The beginning stages of the Saluki Way project are right around the corner, but the biggest changes will be on the field instead of around it. Quintero went on the DL after he was hit in the head with a bat and sustained a concussion against Los Angeles on July 1.

UNT basketball announced last week the hiring of a new assistant basketball coach, Shawn Forrest. Forrest spent the last six years as assistant coach for Arkansas State, including part of the 2007-2008 season as co-interim head coach.

During his time at Arkansas State University, Forrest helped the Red Wolves to a conference championship final in the 2006-2007 season and had multiple top 100 recruiting classes, according to a UNT statement.
