Time has come for a new semester, which means a new play from the theatre department at Missouri Southern. Play director Melissa Rutledge, senior theatre major, spent most of the fall 2004 semester preparing for this play, but didn't have a hard time selecting Wendy MacLeod's "The Water Children" as her top choice.
In seven weeks, spring break 2006 will kick off. Missouri Southern's last day of classes before will be March 17. Spring break is an opportunity to earn money or a chance to get away from the pressures of school and relax. However, a few students will have one thing on their mind when it comes to spring break-looking good for a vacation.
Comedy, magic, mind-reading and how it all works are on the agenda for next week's visit from "bizarre" magician Brian Brushwood. Brushwood is originally from Texas and started doing magic shows in 1983. Since then, he has earned the titles "best club magic" and "best comedy magic" from his home state.
Previously popular 18-and-up hang out for Missouri Southern students is re-opening their doors in a new location. King Jack Sport Bar & Grill is tentatively scheduled to open Wednesday for college night. King Jack's new location in Carthage is around 10 minutes away from campus.
After a month-long break, the Campus Activities Board begins the semester off with a full list of events. "We already have all of the big events planned for this semester," said Graham Dickinson, vice president of CAB. Yet the Board still needed to fill a few holes in the schedule so the Board discussed several ideas for smaller events to take place in between the bigger already scheduled events.
