Women set to run Nationals through adversity

When the Missouri Southern Lions approach the starting line in Evansville, Ind. tomorrow, they will do so with intentions of capping off one of their most dominant seasons in recent memory. In the last month, the Lions have continued to finish among the top of their meets, including sweeps in both the Conference and Regional Championships.

Men's high expectations translate into success

Even after sweeping the MIAA Conference Championships and the South Central Regional Championships, in successive meets, men's Head Coach Tom Rutledge is not surprised. All the success is simply what he expects from his group of young men. "I always expect to win Regionals, I expect to win Conference," he said.

Lions open regular season at PSU, Emporia: Men's Basketball

Today the Missouri Southern men's basketball team will begin it's regular season slate against Missouri S&T at the Pitt State Classic. The men began their season on Oct. 30 in an exhibition at Illinois in which they were bounced easily, 95-67. In their second exhibition tune-up, the Lions hosted Livin' The Dream Nov.

The 2009-10 Missouri Southern women's basketball team is looking to build off last year's trip to the MIAA conference tournament semi finals, but they it be doing so with almost a completely new team. Nine of the 14 players on this year's squad are new to Lion's basketball, and are being led by seniors Randi Henderson and Jolea Apon.

Southern soccer ends year with a victory

The Missouri Southern Women's Soccer team played their final game of the 2009 season Saturday November 8, and they went out with a bang beating the Emporia State Hornets 2-0. The two goals were career firsts for Megan Stueve and Corinne Tebbs. Another bright spot for the Lions over the last few games has been Southern goalkeeper Randi Russell, who has continued to make big strides throughout the year.
