In the past few months, we've had two religious radicals visit our campus yelling insults at students without provocation. As a Christian myself, watching other Christians act this way is disgusting. Brother Matt, wearing a dress shirt, tie and baseball cap ensemble, yelled words such as "slut," "liar" and "whore" at students last Sept.
I know I don't like breathing in second-hand smoke, nor do I like smelling like an ashtray before going to class. Am I the only one who notices that when you're headed into a building that you're suddenly suffocated in a cloud of cigarette smoke? You look around and glare at the perpetrators who are standing right by the entrance, smoking casually and glaring at you as you cough and try and gulp in fresh air into your lungs like it's your fault because you're not a smoker.
All right, all right. Enough already. I understand The Chart has printed some controversial things recently and it has put the campus in an uproar. In fact, I myself take all responsibility for those misunderstandings. As the editor-in-chief, I should take more time to make sure everything that makes it to print is written professionally and is not offensive for the wrong reasons.
I would like to express my displeasure that my culture has been hijacked and held hostage by pop culture. It has been happening for a long time. It began before I was born, but I have seen it flourish in my generation more than any previous generation. First it was cartoons and comic books.
