Karki adjusts to Southern, cultural differences in U.S.

Nepal, a small country located between India and China, has sent a student to Missouri Southern for the first time this semester. Sushant Karki, freshman computer information science major, was born in the village of Kapil Vastu, the birthplace of Buddha.

Haitian students stay strong in time of crisis

Missouri Southern's seven Haitian students are staying strong after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake crippled their home country on Jan. 12, six days before Spring classes began, said Kim Gray, program manager for the MSSU-UniQ Partnership. The students are attending Southern for their last two years of school after two years at Universite Quisqueya.

International students add to MSSU campus diversity

There are many new faces at the start of any semester, but these days more of those faces come from different countries. Enrollment of international students has been on the rise in the United States for several years and Missouri Southern is no exception to that trend.
