"I kind of let them do what they wanted and they brought in their models and their DJ and their photographers and things like that. I just kind of helped them organize that to make it work best for this facility."

Heather Richardson, owner of Razor's Edge, did the hair styling for the models that night.

"We just went with kind of edgy, not quite gothic look and went with the clothing line," she said. "It was very fast paced. I thought it was well put together. It was something neat and different for Joplin. This is the first time for me and I'd like to do it again."

Other participants included Ashley Wakefield, owner of Sophie's Shoes and Heather Nelson, business manager of Lancome Cosmetics. Both said they hope to see more fashion events in Joplin.

The models all seemed to enjoy themselves and the fashion line. Aurash Habibi, Studeard's brother, modeled for the show.

"I thought it was really good," he said. "I enjoyed myself. I needed it for my personal self. All in all I had a blast."

Habibi said the clothing is "edgy" and a style he can support.

"It's a new style and she's my sister so I will support it," he said. I do pro kick boxing but I don't do well performing in front of large crowds so I thought this might help me out performing in front of a large crowd."

Trendsetters said the show as a success with a turnout close to 400 people and they will be hosting more shows in the future.

"The next show will probably be a spring show," said Griffin. "It will be scheduled in February. We're going to try and pick up a new line or two by then.

"We're working with a company in Australia to get a new line in. We have not officially signed on with them yet though."
